How I met Sherman Alexie
OK, so I didn’t meet him. But I sat REALLY CLOSE to the stage.
I’m shyyyyyyyy!

I met Lele on Friday night. She’s so kind and gracious she didn’t tell me I had Oreo on my face. HA!
A lot of people have stopped following Douglas Coupland’s work, but I haven’t. He has a unique literary voice that speaks to me—even when he’s being cheeky.
I don’t really watch American Idol much, but I know he’s the only AI judge who matters. He knows what to look for in a pop star. And he’s a snarky bastard!!
I want to say but one thing: “Seattle music is not Lite Jazz.”
Mayor Nickels, you’re going to kill what helped put Seattle on the cultural map.
I’m a big fan of Sherman Alexie’s novels and poetry. On Monday, I’m going to go to a reading for his latest book, “Flight.” I don’t know if I’ll have the guts to approach him, though.
I couldn’t have put Fray Day Guam together without Marian’s vital assistance. She made the flyer’s, introduced me to possible participants, most of all she was encouraging and supportive and loved the idea of a Fray Day on Guam. She’s one of the most creative and beautiful people I know.
OK, so I didn’t meet him.
I admit: in high school, I thought Jon Stewart was funny, smart, and damn good looking. In 2002 I was in Manhattan, shopping for sundries at a D’Agostino. There was this crazy homeless guy buying stacks and stacks of newspapers behind me.
Only it wasn’t a homeless guy, it was Jon Stewart! And he was a lot shorter and eh, rougher-lookin than I thought he’d be.
So much for high school crushes…
I really just want to see if I’ll kiss his ass like the rest of the Mac fanboys & fangirls. :)
